A 330 Sq Ft Room Addition on Adler Avenue
Expanding two bedrooms, adding a full new bathroom, and refreshing the exterior of a single-story San Diego home — square footage that lives like it was always there.
Expanding the Footprint on Adler Avenue
This San Diego project on Adler Avenue set out to solve a problem many growing families face: a home they love in a location that works, but not quite enough room to live comfortably. Rather than move, the owners chose to expand.
We added 330 square feet to enlarge two existing bedrooms and carve out an entirely new bathroom, all while modernizing the home inside and out. The goal was square footage that feels original to the house, not tacked on.

Adding Space Without Losing the Home’s Character
The hardest part of any room addition is making new construction feel seamless. A poorly executed addition announces itself — mismatched rooflines, a jarring change in materials, a floor plan that suddenly stops making sense.
On Adler Avenue, our task was to expand the footprint while keeping the single-story silhouette intact and the interior flow natural. That required careful structural tie-ins, matched exterior finishes, and permitting coordination with the City of San Diego before the first wall went up.
330 Square Feet, Fully Integrated
Expanded Bedrooms
We enlarged two existing bedrooms, giving each more usable floor space and better natural light. Bold botanical accent walls and a warm palette turn the additions into genuine retreats rather than utilitarian boxes.
A Brand-New Bathroom
The addition includes a full new bathroom finished with green tile, a custom wood vanity, and a glass walk-in shower — a clean, contemporary space that adds everyday convenience and long-term value.
Custom Built-Ins & Flexible Living
Beyond the bedrooms, we built custom wood shelving and a built-in home office, turning reclaimed square footage into a functional workspace bathed in natural light from a new skylight.
Exterior Upgrades & Curb Appeal
The project finished outside with refreshed stucco and low-maintenance, drought-tolerant landscaping — desert-friendly xeriscaping that modernizes the curb appeal while keeping upkeep and water use low.

A Larger, More Functional Home
The finished project gives the family everything they were missing without the cost and upheaval of moving — two roomier bedrooms, a brand-new bathroom, flexible living space, and a refreshed exterior that lifts the whole property. The 330 square feet reads as though it was always part of the home, which is exactly the point of a well-executed addition.
